How to tenderize lesser quality steak

Method:

The quality of the steak on the vessels can vary from country to country and from supplier to supplier. There are a few methods to tenderize meat.


This method is very effective as long as you apply it properly. It will not turn stew into tenderloin, but it will for sure increase the tenderness of low quality steak considerably.


How does it work:


1. Portion your steaks

2. Take half a pineapple, cube it and then run it through a blender until smooth.

3. Lay the portions of steak next to each other in the smallest container possible. Make sure all steaks can lay flat but with the least space possible in between them and between the steaks and the sides of the container.

4. Pour the liquid pineapple over the steaks and massage the pineapple on all sides of the steaks.

5. Allow the steaks to sit as such for about one hour

6. Now rinse off the pineapple from the steaks, season them and bake them according to your desired end result.


Pineapple contains certain enzymes that will tear down the fibers within the steak, resulting in a more tender cut.
