Quick vegetables for single portions

serves:

A nice hack to accommodate picky eaters

Method:

Within MLC 2006, we are often required to accommodate different cultures and food requirements. Often, time limitations and limited room on the range may bring challenges to the table. With this easy tip for quick fresh vegetables, you will be able to bring solutions to at least one of these challenges. How does it work:

1. Use fresh vegetables only.

2. Clean them and cut them up into equal size bits.

3. Put them in a china bowl. The shape is preferably round and conical.

4. Add no more than one tablespoon of liquid, preferably white chicken stock.

5. Add flavor by adding thyme, rosemary, some garlic, as you prefer

6. Cover with cling foil, don’t perforate.

7. Put in the microwave for about 30 to 90 seconds at 900, depending upon the kind of vegetables and their size. Check vegetable consistency and cooking. Repeat the process if necessary.

This is a way of quickly steaming vegetables. You can still opt to butter them or sauté them with some shallots or onions, depending upon your own preferences.

You can try this method also with frozen vegetables. They will however take more time. Ideally, you start from defrosted and then dried vegetables.
