How to de-seed a chili pepper

Method:

First method:


1. Put some lemon juice on your knife. This will neutralize the spiciness of the chili pepper.

2. Cut of the stem, then cut the chili pepper in half lengthwise. 

3. Now, take a teaspoon and scrape out the seeds from the pepper halves. 

4. Instantly clean all utensils to avoid spice cross-contamination.


Second method:


1. Put some lemon juice on your knife. This will neutralize the spiciness of the chili pepper.

1. Cut off the top of the chili pepper, about 1 cm under the stem, so you can actually look inside the pepper.

2. Now, gently, rub the pepper between your hands repeatedly with the open end faced downwards. The seeds will drop out.

3. Remember to put on gloves while doing this.
